GPS Precautions
(1) When flying in a new location for the first time, the GPS will perform a cold start, which means satellite acquisition may take longer (2–5 minutes). In subsequent flights, the GPS will perform a hot start, significantly reducing the time needed to acquire satellites (1–10 seconds).
(2) Digital video transmitters, especially the DJI O3 Air Unit, may interfere with satellite acquisition. This is because the O3 antenna can generate interference when operating. Try adjusting or repositioning the O3 antenna to prevent signal blockage directly above the GPS module.
(3) If the GPS still cannot acquire satellites for a long time, try the following methods:
- Disconnect the power supply to the O3 unit;
- Power on the flight controller normally and wait for the GPS to lock onto satellites;
- Once satellites are locked, reconnect the O3 unit;
- Alternatively, power the flight controller via USB 5V first, wait for satellite lock, then power the drone normally.
After the satellites are locked, GPS functions will continue to work properly even after reconnecting the O3.
